Bali Day 4 - Kuta

We made sure the room was properly locked before we checked out.

The padlock

Panorama Hotel

Along the way to the Luwak coffee park, stopped by a nice rice terraces for shooting

The food for the Civet

The civet's feces that made the world best coffee

Sleepy Civat

The dried feces

Trying out different beverages like lemongrass, bali coffee etc. I especially love the ginger tea. I also bought some.

Deva patiently walk through with us the making of luwak coffee process from civet feces to fine powder. One small cup of luwak coffee does not come cheap, we tried a cup which cost Rupiah 50,000.

The business owner is smart, he makes people want to smoke by putting the cigarratte making materials on the table: the triple 5 paper and some dried tobbaco leaves. The cost is lower as compared to now the cigarratte price at RM10 per pack.

Deva showed us different type of fruits like starfruit, cocoa, red fruit for diabetes and the best part is that he showed buah salak has gender different male and female. How to differentiate it was through the size of the contents, if see 2 small 1 big means male and if see 2 big 1 small means female. I found the female fruit sweeter and juicier.

We continued our journey to Tirta Empul which is famed for holy water showering. Deva said people from all over the world are here with different purposes.

They all came for the water as they believed the miracle water can heal sickness and most importantly to refresh the mind. We saw eel and snake in one of the pond and also natural water ooazing out from the ground. Not sure to believe Deva or not he said we were lucky tourist because these are not commonly seen in public everyday.

After Goa Gajah temple, we had babi guling as lunch in ibu oka restaurant.

We had babi guling as lunch in ibu oka restaurant. Yes could see the food in that place was nice, however it was crowded and we found the system frustrating. We wasted 40 min for nothing. Deva was angry of course but he still never gave up to satisfy us with babi guling as lunch.

After having a rather unsatisfying pirated babi guling we went for a brief car tour in Nusa Dua. Overthere you could see high class hotels and this is where the Asia summit conference leaders will come to stay in November like Westin, JW Marriott and Novotel.

Too bad no paragliding for us because of low tide. We headed to Uluwatu to see the temple on top of the cliff. The view was magnificient like I was in Great Ocean Road minus the Wild monkeys which were jumping around.

We were told to watch out for our belongings because the monkeys were professionally trained to be naughty. The caretaker there trained them to take people thing away. To get it back you need to pay the caretaker and he will help to get it back from the monkey.

Almost all the people carried a stick in case of emergency.

A yawning sharp teeth monkey.

Didn't know monkey can be a good swimmer. In this video below you can also see a snake was laying an eye on its prey. Do you think the snake successfully have his lunch?

Hard Rock Bali

The worst dinner I ever had in Bali was in KFC: slow service, misleading poster Colonel Katsu as it comes with little food. There were also strayed cats in the eating area.

After dinner we went back to Aneka Kuta Beach Hotel.

2 winks:

  1. 1) How's the taste of Coffee Luwak?
    2) Our Chinese style "SHAO ZHU" tastes much better than the original babi guling of ibu oka.
    3) Wow... the monkey just behind you!

Well, I heard coffee luwak is more expensive than gold. So, dun be angry if someone says " 请你吃大便”next time ... wakakakak.

  2. 1. For me I don't really like it because it tastes bitter. I prefer sweeter taste.

    2. Yes. babi guling too babi, like not well cook. I ate some of its internal organ too. Still I prefer Chinese Shao Zhu.

    3. The monkey is too fat to move.

I heard the same too. I am not angry but I will prefer gold : )))
